Specifications
TYPE: Two pack water based galvanizing compound.
GENERAL PROPERTIES: ZRC® ZERO-VOC is a advanced-technology cold galvanizing compound based on a trade secret binder which affords true galvanic anti-corrosion protection to metals without the necessity of sandblasting for most metals. Also withstands high temperatures.
SUBSTRATES: Apply to properly prepared carbon steel, cast iron, and aluminum surfaces. Not recommended for hot-dip galvanizing surfaces.
NOT RECOMMENDED FOR: Contact with potable water, acids or alkaline environments will require appropriate top coats.
SALT FOG EXPOSURE: 10,000 + Hours (ASTM B1I7)
PROHESION/QUV EXPOSURE: 2000 + Hours (ASTM D5894)
VOC: 0 lbs/gal (0 gms/ltr) (ASTM D3960)

MIXING RATIO: 1 part Liquid: 3.1 parts Powder by weight. Containers are pre-measured to ensure proper mixing ratio. ALWAYS add powder to liquid. Homogenize thoroughly and strain through 30 mesh filter before application. To mix less than entire kit contents, weigh ingredients and use ratio printed above.
POT LIFE: 24 hours (longer times before use will result in diminished performance).
INDUCTION (SWEAT-IN) TIME: None
APPLICATION METHODS
BRUSH/ROLLER/AEROSOL: Per Mixing Instructions.

Recommended Procedure |
Connect hose directly to pump ensuring a hose length of 50 ft. max. Use in-pot agitator or continuous recycling. Use least pressure possible. Start at 1500 lbs. (105 Kg/cm3) and increase as required for good spraying. |
CLEAN UP: Water
DRY TIME (set to touch): When ambient air-dried, 15 minutes @1.5 mil (38µ) thickness.
ADDITIONAL COATS: Additional coats (up to 6.0 mils total dft (152 µ) may be applied, allowing a minimum 4 hour cure time at 25ºC/ 77ºF to extend corrosion protection.
TOUCH-UP: Touch-up should be done using our ZRC Cold Galvanizing Compound, available in liquid and aerosol.
TOPCOATING: 24 hours after application of one coat of ZERO-VOC (1.5 mil dft) to a sandblasted surface, ZERO-VOC may be topcoated with acrylic, chlorinated rubber, epoxy, urethane or vinyl-type products. DO NOT TOPCOAT WITH ALKYD, or ALKYD-MODIFIED ACRYLIC-TYPE PRODUCTS!
